Hello?!
Wouter van Eekelen
Posted On: 14 Dec 2009 2:39 AM

Okay:
'Expires' should be set to 1 year (it's currently 4 hours).
'Cache-Control' should be private (it's currently max-age=604800)
'ETag' should be removed

And gzip enabled.

I indeed see that it's faster from my US servers, are you sure you set the HTTP headers correct?

Cache-Control private
Expires max

Hi Wouter,

I appreciate that, but there is no evidence to suggest that SimpleCDN is loading slower. Monitoring from 3rd party companies such as Pingdom, Alertra, Host Tracker and Uptrends all supports that SimpleCDN is loading faster.

Engineering has found nothing wrong, and is showing all elements loading faster from the CDN from *ALL* locations, except in Amsterdam where speed is the same - since your server is located there.

I'll go ahead and close the ticket with engineering, since no reporting tool is reporting a problem, and all are showing faster loading from the CDN.

Thanks,

Tony

All I want is a refund for my 50 USD, the only costs I made is the 5 USD setup for the SSL subdomains which took you over a month to set up.
I do think that you can be reasonable and admit that charging 20 USD for something that takes you over 1 month is not very fair.

Well, I do not care what some scripts say about it, I care about what my customers and visitors say.

Hi Wouter,

I have been unable to find any monitoring locations that is showing your server loading faster. I also show that the majority of images are loaded from SimpleCDN, even from the "false" page.

From New York Uptrends shows 4.6 seconds for complete "true" load from SimpleCDN, and 6 seconds from the "false" page. Also keep in mind that most of this time is spent waiting for the initial page from your server. PDF Reports are attached.

SimpleCDN "true" page in Los Angeles keeps pace even faster at 3.6 seconds, while the "false" page increases to 9.1 seconds.

It appears that SimpleCDN loads the page faster in every instance.

Thanks,

Tony

Some more replies:
[08:33:21] [+PaulDefaire] Woet: false loads faster for me.
[08:33:40] [Decaknight] yes false

A quick test:
[08:24:48] what loads faster
[08:24:49] https://www.serverffs.com/?simplecdn=true
[08:24:49] or
[08:24:51] https://www.serverffs.com/?simplecdn=false

Answers:
[08:22:39] false
[08:22:49] a lot?
[08:22:52] ya
[08:25:23] https://www.serverffs.com/?simplecdn=false
[08:25:28] loaded faster for me
[08:25:32] by about 10 seconds
[08:25:42] True (agreeing with ev0lution)
[08:25:47] yeah (agreeing with ev0lution)

dab is from the US, ev0lution is from New Zealand, []localhost[] is from the UK, diamons is from the US and I'm from The Netherlands.

Your CDN is much slower for everyone I ask.

Hi Wouter,

I'm not seeing that at all, how are you seeing, or what are you doing to see that time?

Pingdom is showing the SimpleCDN version loading faster, and all individual elements loaded from SimpleCDN load right away.

Thanks,

Tony

Hi Wouter,

Thanks for your email. I apologize, but we are not seeing any issues on your account. Engineering has been monitoring, and isn't seeing any errors. Can you please provide me with a URL that you are seeing not working, or are having trouble with?

Also, are you running any sort of IP blocking or DDOS protection on your origin server?

Thanks,

Tony

It's really extremely slow, my site takes up to 30 seconds to load vs 0.8 second.
Even after waiting 10 minutes for your mirrors to catch up, it's just as slow.

Some files will not load, returning:
--
Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
--

Please refund my 50 USD, cancel my account and purge all files.

Hi Wouter,

Thanks for your reply - I apologize again, we have been offering phone support to all customers, not just those with phone support contracts due to the ticketing system problems - for some reason apparently a certain character caused messages to be flagged as SPAM, and never appeared in the new ticket thread for support personnel to read

These domains have all been setup and should now be working - let me know if you see any issues with them, and if you provide a sample link I can test through the CDN for you.

Thanks,

Tony

If you have a problem with your support for 1 month, why don't you at least set up an emergency replacement so we can actually contact you?!

Please set up the subdomains like I requested 1 month.

Hi Wouter,

I apologize, we have had problems with our ticketing system hosted by Kayako (actually moving to a new system shortly), and this is the only message I see in the ticket history.

If you can let me know what I can help you with, I can make sure whatever you need is taken care of right away.

Thanks,

Tony

I give up now, I'm not gonna trust my static website objects to a company that takes 1 month for a DNS change.
You can close this ticket and cancel my account.

Oh, I'm very sorry, the order of the replies confused me.

Those subdomains are fine, and yes I already have a mirror bucket.

Hello?!?!?

I'm waiting CLOSE TO A MONTH for a reply?!

Hi Wouter,

Thanks for your email.

I apologize for the delay to your ticket. We have been having trouble with our Kayako support ticketing system, and some tickets / emails received and not been placed into the proper queues. We are working to view and respond to all tickets received ASAP...

The domains that you listed won't work, as they won't be covered by the *.simplecdn.net wildcard certificate. I can however modify them to include a dash, which would work for you as expected. Would the following changes be okay:

cdn1-serverffs.simplecdn.net
cdn2-serverffs.simplecdn.net
cdn3-serverffs.simplecdn.net
cdn4-serverffs.simplecdn.net

Also, do you already have a mirror bucket created that these domains should be mapped to?

Thanks,

Tony

Please create the HTTPS domains:

Dear Tony,

That sounds just as good, how do I order/request it?
I would like 4 SSL subdomains, if possible:

cdn1.serverffs.simplecdn.net
cdn2.serverffs.simplecdn.net
cdn3.serverffs.simplecdn.net
cdn4.serverffs.simplecdn.net

Hi Wouter,

Thanks for your email. Currently we do not support custom SSL certificates on the CDN - you can still use HTTPS / SSL, but without a CNAME, using one of the *.simplecdn.net domains instead which will be covered by our wildcard certificate.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Tony

Dear simpleCDN,

I want to use SSL for my files, I already have 4 certificates myself:
staticffs.com
one.staticffs.com
two.staticffs.com
three.staticffs.com

What do I have to do link those with simpleCDN?
